TE TAIAO ENVIRONMENT

Patuharakeke are a composite hapū descended from most major iwi groups in the north. These include Ngati Wai, Ngapuhi nui tonu, Ngati Whatua and Te Uri o Hau. We affiliate to a very large number of hapu including Te Uriroroi, Te Koiwi, Te Akitai, Ngati Hau, Ngati Korora, Ngati Taka, Ngati Hine, Te Waiariki, Te Parawhau and many others.

Located on the south side of the Whangarei Harbour, the Patuharakeke rohe boundary stretches on the seaward side, including foreshore and seabed, from a point at the north of Mangawhai Heads to the entrance of the Mangapai River just south of Whangarei. The boundary extends inland to include the Brynderwyn (or Piroa) and Kakanui Ranges.

Trustee Elections 2026: Nominations now open, close 5:00pm, Friday 31^st July 2026

Kia ora e te whānau,

Nominations are now open for Trustees of the Patuharakeke Trust Board (Commercial Trust) ahead of the Annual General Meeting to be held:

Saturday 5th September 2026 Start: 10:00am Venue: Takahiwai Marae

We invite registered adult members of Patuharakeke to consider standing as a Trustee, or to nominate someone who carries the skills, integrity, and commitment to serve our hapū. Note there are four Trustee vacancies.

Eligibility

To stand as a Trustee, nominees must:

· Be a Registered Adult Member of Patuharakeke

· Be 18 years or older

· Not be an employee of the Trust or any Trust entity

· Not be an employee, trustee, or director of another iwi PSGE within Te Taitokerau

· If standing as a Resident Trustee, be domiciled in Te Taitokerau

How to Nominate

· Ensure it is completed and signed by two registered adult nominators. If wanting to register: www.patuharakeke.maori.nz

· Include an optional Candidate Profile Statement (up to 250 words)

· Attach a brief curriculum vitae containing details of experience relevant to the role of Trustee

· Submit by 5:00pm, Friday 31^st July 2026 to Email: admin@patuharakeke.maori.nz Subject: Trustee Nomination
