Patuharakeke Te Iwi Trust Board is proud to announce the appointment of Shilane Shirkey to the role of Kaiārahi Pūkenga. 
He uri nō Patuharakeke, Shilane brings a wealth of experience, deep whakapapa connections, and a strong commitment to empowering our hapū.  Shilane has worked extensively across Te Tai Tokerau in roles that bridge financial expertise and kaupapa Māori. Her previous mahi includes:
  • Business Partner Māori Sector at BNZ, supporting iwi, hapū, marae, and pakihi Māori.

  • Credit Manager at Lending Hub, offering insights into economic challenges faced by whānau.

  • Kaiārahi / Business Navigator at Whāriki Te Tai Tokerau, where she champions pakihi Māori and promotes collaboration.


Her proactive leadership and her long-standing involvement with Whāriki reflect her dedication to nurturing Māori enterprise and community wellbeing.  As Kaiārahi Pūkenga, Shilane will be leading strategic engagement, supporting our Board, and strengthening relationships across our rohe. Her appointment marks a new chapter in our journey — one built in whakapapa, innovation, and rangatiratanga.
