Patuharakeke hapū is seeking expressions of interest for a mandated representative to sit at Te Kārearea, the Whangārei District Council Standing Committee, via Te Huinga.


About the Role:

This is a governance-level position requiring approx. 14 hours/month commitment, including meetings, focus groups, reading, and reporting back to Te Huinga and hapū hui.


We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is a uri of Patuharakeke hapū

  • Understands He Whakaputanga & Te Tiriti in local government contexts

  • Has strong hapū engagement and relationship skills

  • Is confident, analytical, and well-organised

  • Can commit to regular meetings and reporting


Key Dates:

  • EOI closes: 5pm, Thursday 2 October 2025

  • Interviews: Monday 6 October, Whangārei Terenga Paraoa

  • Announcement: Wednesday 8 October
